About Cognidox

Our story

Cognidox began life as “Doxbox” – an in-house collaboration and document management tool created by the fabless semiconductor company Virata. Doxbox brought a new discipline to project governance to the company and powered Virata’s growth into a publicly listed company worth over $5B before Conexant Systems acquired it.

Paul Walsh and Vittal Aithal spun out Doxbox as Cognidox in 2008. At every stage of its development, the platform was reworked to support the needs of an evolving market. Now, through document control, auditing capabilities, and phase-gating tools, it’s become the eQMS of choice for product development teams around the world.

In 2016, the medical device company Colaesce discovered Cognidox. Using the system as the digital framework for their QMS, they gained ISO 13485 in record time. In a complex sector, Cognidox saw a need for scaling med tech companies to impose governance without sacrificing velocity.

Now, hundreds of medical device and life-science firms use our digital tools. We’re helping drive innovation from breath analysis for cancer screening to spinal column implants and SaMD.

In a market dominated by clunky and complicated eQMS platforms, Cognidox is different. We’re here to free developers from the chokehold of traditional Quality Management Software and the curse of over-processing. Since 2009, we’ve been on a mission to help high-tech innovators scale up faster through more frictionless development and LEAN governance.
